Two builders. Seven minutes each. Then the Hotseat.

Real AI in production, shown live. If it doesn't run on stage, it doesn't get a slot. Then the room takes the mic — the wins, the fails, and what it actually cost.

Interesting presentations, and the chance to actually meet each other.

Each presenter gets an identical 14-minute block: seven minutes to show something that runs, seven minutes of questions. Two presenters a night.

The Hotseat is ten minutes for anyone in the room to describe a real attempt to use AI in their business — what worked, what didn't, what it cost in tokens and sleep.

Hosted by Nicholas Levenstein. Venue sponsor: Tropical Nomad, Canggu. Every other Thursday; doors 6:30, programme 6:40.

One rule for presenters: demo a working product or code, live. No slide-only talks.

Typeback and the Anthropic IPO

This week's guest was Patryk Reba (Founder, Typeback), who built an AI keyboard for iPhone that reads the chat on your screen and writes the reply in your own voice — and he ran it live on a WhatsApp conversation in front of the room. Then Nick brought the biggest news in AI this month: Anthropic is going public, in what will probably be the largest IPO in world history. Its revenue went from $41 million to $16.2 billion in under three years, a climb that took Microsoft and Amazon about twenty years.

  • Typeback sits where your keyboard already is, so you stop screenshotting chats into ChatGPT and pasting the answer back; it learns your style from the messages you send.
  • Q&A: Patryk ran hundreds of comparisons across Claude, DeepSeek, Kimi and others before choosing Claude for how it reads context, and Typeback picks up a chat you come back to days later, in any language.
  • Typeback is free while it is in beta.
  • Anthropic's listing is likely to be the largest IPO in history: $16 billion of revenue in the first half of the year, up from $41 million to $16.2 billion in under three years, a climb Microsoft and Amazon each took about twenty years to make to $10 billion.
  • Gross margin is now 72%, for a company already at that scale.

Rice & Robots and Business Brain

Nick opened with Rice & Robots — his first project of that kind with his child Max, and the idea that a device in a child's hands can be a positive in a place where people are out in the rice field at four in the morning. Claudia Cojoc (AI Marketing Strategist & Founder, Business Brain) followed with the decision-making system she has spent six months building, on top of six years running her own marketing agency in Romania.

  • Founders are short of the decision rather than the information — what to do next, and why.
  • AI tools will write the content; the judgement about what is right for the business stays with the founder.
  • Business Brain answers with a 30-day plan and a move for each day, and will say it lacks enough information where other tools invent an answer.
  • Hot Seat: editing your own YouTube footage with Claude Code rather than generating it, giving an agent your tone of voice, and a quarterly report produced by an avatar and an agent.

Grokbot and Jeeves

Eric Boehlke (Founder, aifab.xyz) showed Grokbot and Jason Williscroft (President & Founder, John Galt Services) showed Jeeves, both running live, and the room then turned the questions back on the presenters.

  • Grokbot gives you one main bot that spawns others, and they message each other; each sits on a virtual machine that keeps running — Eric's checked Skyscanner daily for cheap flights.
  • No connector exists for personal WhatsApp chats, and WhatsApp bans accounts that try, so plan around it.
  • Jeeves ingests your email and the rest of your material onto a server, then spawns agents inside your Slack channel instead of a custom chat window.
  • Vector search puts the needed context in front of the assistant and removes the coarser hallucinations; the subtler ones remain.
  • Q&A: "Who's the engineer? You." Engineer the process so the failure cannot happen — that is the difference between a big project and a hobby project.

What eleven agents actually cost

Nick opened the books on running a small firm on agents — a planned monthly allowance gone in a day, the "38 agents" that were really 11, and the key-person question investors ask. Chris Wijnia (Chief Innovation Officer, Agio Digital) took the technical questions.

  • Fetch, don't paste: connect the CRM and the note-taker instead of loading transcripts.
  • Turn repeat work into skills; watch scheduled loops — frequency drives cost more than cleverness.
  • No RAG at this size; connectors plus rules files plus tests.
  • Hotseat: agent sandboxes, a group photo-book app, e-commerce automation.

Miranesia & Hermes

Frederic Bazin — Miranesia, a daily-updated feed of everything on in Bali for the next 30 days, vibe-coded in 12 hours; LLMs discover the sources, clean the copy and write the code. Marcel J Reinosa — running a multi-million-dollar construction enterprise on Nous Research's Hermes agent: planning, estimates, operations.
